“A Promised Land” is a memoir by Barack Obama that chronicles his presidency from 2009 to 2017. The strategy for this project was to capture the historical nature of his time in the White House by designing in the style of vintage newspaper clippings. The cover also features Rosa Parks in order to demonstrate the parallel of both their achievements pertaining to civil rights and social justice. For added effect, Obama is sitting on the same bus in the exact same spot that Rosa Parks did during her famous sit-in.
